Famous last words

Dear readers,

It's not you.  It's me.  We had our moments, like when I pretended to understand wedding etiquette.  And, that time Bill the Roofer thought I had a life.  And, of course, it was always a pleasure to tell you about the inventively stupid things my parents' dog did.  But, sometimes writers and readers just grow apart and there's no one to blame.  Besides, most of my recent writing has involved jokes that would only make a room full of seventh graders laugh, and that's not what I had in mind when I started this blog.

And, so, this is goodbye.  Today's post marks the final entry in this space.  Many thanks to those who visited this blog occasionally, regularly, sparingly, or religiously.  Your comments and criticisms were welcome and helped keep me going when I was suffering through a creative fallow period.  I wish you all well as you seek other ways to pass your time at work.

WTF HTV? is this some sick joke? and that's how you go out - w/ no explination like "i found a job so i now how no time" or "this just got really boring for me" or "the readership of 3 people isn't worth the time that i have to put in to think of a topic and post it to this blog"!

Settle down, dap, it's not like I just ran over your dog. There are a variety of reasons for ending things. No, I did not find a job, and that seems like a good reason to be spending less time writing and more time sending out resumes to unmonitored mailboxes or HR people who would rather spend their time matching acronyms on your resume to the acronyms in the job description than actually, you know, reading your resume. Not that I'm bitter. Your last point is probably closest to the truth: since I was spending my writing time on blog posts, I wasn't doing a terribly good job of keeping up with friends via email. And, since the readership of this blog does not extend much, if at all, beyond my circle of friends, it became this one-way means of communication that prevented me from learning what was going on in the lives of the people around me. Besides, I can be much more offensive in my emails than I can in this space. Having said all of that, my blog might be reborn in some other guise further down the road.

well, i can't argue w/ keeping up relationships w/ friends and i can see how this is a 1 way tool of communication - except for about 3 of us who commented on a regular basis. i really enjoyed the writing, htv, it made me smile and laugh out loud during the day. i hope that my comments added to the blog, and just let me know when it's reborn as i'll definitely be reading it. take care, and don't be a stranger - i do have a personal email address if you'd like to send me Explicit messages!
